I had the amazing opportunity to be a co-lead in Middletown Township Public School's initiatives, MTPS Community Connects. MTPS Community Connects sets to partner with local Middletown Businesses in efforts to close the digital divide for the students in Middletown. This partnership will provide additional network accessibility for students in the Middletown Communities that can extend their learning beyond the school day.
Over the past three years, Middletown Township Public Schools has implemented a one-to-one digital initiative, that provides a Chromebook for every student in grades three through twelve. The use of these devices in the classroom has allowed Middletown educators to begin creating student centered, personalized learning environments that empower students to be well-rounded, contributing members of our technology infused, quickly changing global community.
The MTPS Community Connects initiative will bridge the gap between home and school and allow all students to truly have anytime, anywhere learning opportunities that are paramount in ending ‘bell-to-bell’ learning schedules. Official Wifi Partners of MTPS Community Connects will establish safe and reliable places within the community where students of the Middletown Township Public School District can connect, access, and extend their learning.
