"The Future Ready Schools NJ initiative has developed chair positions in the following areas; Leadership, Education & Classroom Practice, and Technology Support & Services. These chairs serve as public school educators and school leaders in districts throughout New Jersey. Their years of experience implementing educational technology and personalized learning strategies have added a level of credibility to the program that is unmatched by others. The chairs ensure that the vision of FRS-NJ remains consistent and is communicated effectively. They embrace a philosophy of lifelong learning and the belief that ALL students should have access to personalized learning opportunities."
Over the past two years, myself, along with my two fellow chairs, have volunteered many hours to ensure the program’s success. We were a part of the initial creation of the indicators in year one of the FRS-NJ task force. We oversaw the updates of indicators in all three themes, recruited fellow educators for the awards committees, reviewed hundreds of FRS-NJ submissions, provided individualized feedback to schools/districts in need of improvement, corresponded daily with educators and school leaders when questions arose, shared FRS-NJ communications via social media, celebrated the success of other districts via social media, represented FRS-NJ at local and state conferences, provided professional development to school districts at no charge, organized a FRS-NJ certification summit in Middletown Township in 2018, and worked with NJIT, NJSBA, and NJDOE to revise Bronze and Silver certifications, as well as develop expectations for the new Gold level. As the chairs, we fully believe in this program and are committed to making it a continued success on behalf of students across the state.
